Appeal Court president constitutes election tribunal for Bauchi

 

 

The president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem has constituted the Election Petition Tribunal for the Bauchi State Constituency re-run elections.

This is contained in a statement by the tribunal secretary in the state, Elsie Akpabio on Tuesday.

 

The Appeal Court had ordered for re-run election in 42 Polling Units in four State Assembly Constituencies of the state that was held on Saturday.

The constituencies are: Bauchi Central, Zungur/Galambi, Ningi 1 and Madara/Chinade.

The Tribunal Secretary said the development was in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act.

“Justice Monica Dongben-Mensem has constituted the Election Petition Tribunal for the Bauchi State Constituency re-run elections.

“The tribunal opened their registry for official business at the state High Court of Justice.

“All registered political parties, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Independent National Electoral Commission, and the general public are advised by this announcement to take notice, please,” he said.
