Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has inaugurated the construction of an 11-kilometer Ningi Township dual road project at the sum of N10.3 Billion
Speaking during the inauguration of the dual road on Sunday in Ningi Local Government Gov Mohammed said the 11 kilometre is from the Government Secondary school Ningi to Gudduba in Ningi town, Ningi
He said his administration places priority on road development as other forms of development in the state also hingeshingead Networks,
He added that the contract will be executed through a direct contract award to Cat Nigeria Limited which will be jointly supervised by a team of engineers from the State Ministry of Works transport and Federal Ministry of Works Mohammed said that his administration has already received the approval of the federal government for the construction the road.
“My government wanted the federal government to do it, but his government was too anxious and decided to execute the project,”
The Governor noted that roads are a very important component of economic activities not only in the developed world but also in developed countries,
He stressed that it facilitates access to employment, education and opportunities for all other productive activities.
Mohammed noted that Ningi emirate and the central zone have been deprived by previous administrations of good road networks,
He pointed out that his administration is writing the wrongs and correcting the anomalies in terms of creating engagements, inclusivity and respect for the yearnings and aspirations of every sector of the state.
“This road project is a reciprocation of what you have done to us and we will continue to do it and take one aspect of what you need to the other.
“The project like other numerous projects embarked upon by this administration was waived as a fulfilment of our campaign promises.
“To provide essential infrastructures to the transportation difficulties by our people who face serious challenges in transporting their agricultural produce to the markets.
Speaking on behalf of the benefiting communities, the Emir of Ningi Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya commended the Governor for considering the long-awaited project in his rural and urban development initiative,
He said that the project was timely considered because Emirates had long desired a good road network.
