Just In: Minister of Power, entourage survived plane crash in Ibadan

 

 

In a harrowing incident, a private jet  HS25B aircraft operated by Flint Aero narrowly averted tragedy as it crash-landed on the runway at Ibadan airport yesterday.

It was gathered that the flight, which had departed from Abuja at 18:41 hours, was carrying several high-ranking government officials.

The crash occurred at approximately 19:21 hours, with ten individuals on board. Remarkably, there were no fatalities, although the aircraft sustained significant damage.

The Minister of Power, Abdul Waheed Adebayo Adelabu, and his entourage were in the aircraft which was coming from Abuja, it was said to have skidded off the runway into a nearby bush after landing at the Ibadan Airport.

 

The control tower lost communication with the aircraft and immediately alerted the emergency services.

 

The three cabin crew members and the seven passengers, including the minister, were all rescued from the damaged aircraft. No one was injured in the incident.

According to Vanguard, the pilot had been cleared for an RNAV approach to Runway 22.

Quick and efficient action allowed all passengers and crew members to be safely evacuated.
