“Tinubu’s female Ministers dress like they are going for a beauty pageant”- Adebayo Shittu lament

A former President Buhari appointee Adebayo has voiced out his concerns over the way female Ministers in the cabinets of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dress.

In a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, expressed his concerns about the attire of female ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, likening their dress style to that of beauty pageant contestants.

Shittu, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2019, made these remarks in response to President Tinubu’s address to ministers during a three-day retreat.

President Tinubu had during the retreat’s opening, warned, that ministers failing to perform in their roles would be relieved of their duties.

In response to this, Shittu stated, “I’m happy that President Tinubu appointed several female ministers, but my impression, whenever I see them on television is if they are going to beauty competitions based on the type of dresses they wear.” He went on to emphasize the importance of all ministers demonstrating their seriousness in handling the responsibilities of governance.

Shitty demands that governance should be taken seriously.

Shittu’s comments have sparked discussions about the image and professionalism of government officials in the current administration.
