Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) met the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar (OON) to seek the Ministry’s support in matters of Hajj, Umrah and other consular affairs.
The meeting took place today, 12th October 2023 in the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Alhaji Kunle Hassan formally introduced the NAHCON institution to the Minister describing the Foreign Affairs Ministry as a critical stakeholder in the Hajj organization.
Alhaji Hassan also extended an invitation to Ambassador Tuggar to represent Nigeria as a signatory during the signing of the MoU for the 2024 Hajj expected to come up early in January 2024.
A statement by Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, Assistant Director, Public Affairs Unit NAHCON stated that the Chairman said the invitation was extended early to give the Minister enough time to factor the assignment into his itinerary.
Responding, Ambassador Tuggar assured the NAHCON Chairman of the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the Commission in any way possible towards easing the affairs of pilgrims and promoting the country’s positive image. He also expressed willingness to participate in the signing of the MoU in January.
Both leaders agreed to work together to improve the positive experience of pilgrims.
