Bauchi pilgrims Board caution Hajj officers against compromising pilgrims welfare

The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) Imam Abdurrahman Idris has cautioned local government Hajj Affair Officers against compromising the welfare of intending pilgrims in the state.

 

Idris gave the warning at a distribution exercise of the 2024 Hajj slots to Local Government Areas on Sunday in Bauchi

He noted that Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration is committed to ensuring the Welfare of the intending pilgrims,

The Executive Secretary warned that any Hajj official found indulging in any shoddy deal during the exercise will be severely dealt with.

“The welfare of pilgrims is paramount, so therefore it should not be compromised by any of the Hajj officers,” he said.

Idris urged Hajj officers not to relent in their effort to render selfless service, bearing in mind that they serve guests of Allah and would be rewarded by Allah.

He also urged the Hajj officers and their Deputies to consolidate the achievements of the 2023 Hajj operation. Stressing that the 2024 Hajj exercise is expected to be the best.

Sheik Idris also advises the Hajj officials to be good ambassadors of the Board, urging them to work in synergy with their Local Government Councils, religious and community leaders

“To be acquainted with the intended pilgrims and 2024 Hajj policies of the Saudi Authority and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to him, the sale of *2024* Hajj slots is based on first come first served basis, adding that the Board received only 3364 Hajj slots from NAHCON.

Our corresspondent reports that the distribution of the slots largely depends on the population of each local government area among the 20 local government areas in the state.

He assured that hajj officers would redouble their efforts to serve the intending pilgrims better.
