Amb. Adamu becomes 4th Waziri of Ningi, 62 yrs after tittle’s suspension

The Emir of Ningi, Dr Yunusa Danyaya has turbaned Amb. Shuaibu Adamu is the 4th Wazirin Ningi after 62 years of suspension of the office in the state.

Our correspondent reports that the Ningi Emirate has been without Wazirin since 1961 when the Northern Region Government ordered the suspension of the office to maintain peace and tranquillity in the Emirate.

Adamu was the former Ambassador to Qatar during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. He is presently the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of the Federal Government of Nigeria

In his remarks, Danyaya, the 16th Emir of Ningi, said he found it expedient and necessary to fill in the vacuum of the Waziri office in the emirate, hence the turbaning of Adamu.

“The search was not easy, the result was the selection and subsequent appointment of Amb. Adamu as Wazirin Ningi.

“Adamu was selected based on his track record, community service, exemplary conduct and Support to the emir and the Emirate.

“Waziri is a highly exalted office which had tremendous influence in the administration of the kingdom,” he said.

The Emir announced that the Waziri is the chairman of the kingmakers of the emirate.

Responding, the newly turbaned Wazirin Ningi pledged to be loyal to the emirate and the Emirate-In-Council.

“Despite the challenge in the Waziri office I would try my best to be honest and sincere while carrying out my responsibilities,” he said.

Adamu assured the people of the Emirate that he would explore his influence to promote peace and development of the Ningi kingdom.

Dignitaries that attended the turbaning ceremony included former Governor  Ahmad Muazu of Bauchi, Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator Halliru Jiks, and Kassim Imam among others.
