Jigawa state govt’ to spend over 725 million naira on SSCE registration fees.

The Jigawa state state Executive Council had on Wednesday 13th September, 2023 during its deliberation approved the payment of examinations registration fees for 41,358 final year students across various Secondary Schools in the State for SSCE -NECO 34,210 students,NBAIS-6,571 students, NABTEB- 531 student and BECE-46 candidates respectively.

 

The council was chaired by the state governor malam Umar A. Namadi as part of his commitment to restructure the education sector in the state.

Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture.

 

According to the statement “the total sum of Seven Hundred and Twenty-Five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Eleven Naira and Twenty-Five Kobo (N725,272,611.25) is to be paid through Ministry of Higher Education”.

In a related development, It said the Council has approved the Memo presented by Ministry of Basic Education Six Hundred and NinetySeven Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy-Nine Naira, Fifty-Seven Kobo (N697,892,479.57) for the payment of 2023 1st and 2nd Quarters
UBEC/SUBEB various intervention projects in the State.

 

He said the expected deliverables from the proposed action plan includes 156 new classrooms, Renovation of 221 classrooms, 40 Blocks of 4 cubicle toilets, 68 Handpumps, Boreholes and supply of 14,016 sets of class room furniture and wall fences.

The commissioner stated that the council has also approved the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disbursement of the sum of Eighty-Four Million, Five Hundred and Ten Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira (N84,510,750.00) only for the direct facility financing to 281 accredited Primary Health Centre across the 281 political wards in the State for the 3rd quarter of 2023.

 

According to him, the dedicated amount for each facility would be the sum of Three Hundred and Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira (N300,750.00) for the quarter.
He started that the PHC are going to utilize the fund for procurement of drugs and other basic services to their respective community.
