The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) Zone B has trained no fewer than 25 journalists on quality and universally acceptable content for broadcast media in the Zone.
The Zonal Chairman of the Organisation Alhaji Yusuf Isah, stated this in an interview with our Correspondent Tuesday in Bauchi.
He said the objective of the capacity building training for the professionals was to create richer and more universally acceptable content for broadcast organisations in the northeast .
“BON as an umbrella of broadcast media organisations has the responsibility of building the capacity of the practitioners.
“We identified some gaps in the broadcast media and we resolved to build the capacity of the journalists on how to improve news and production content in broadcast journalism.
“We are poised to tackle some challenges so that broadcast contents will remain what our audience will consume and to make it more universal,” he said.
According to him, the 25 participants were drawn from eleven Broadcast media organisations in Adamawa, Bauchi , Gombe Taraba, Borno and Yobe states .
“The training was conducted in two days on ‘Contemporary Issues in News and Programme Production’ ,” he said.
” It would enhance professionalism, develop talent, build capacity for the broadcast value chain and the media economy,” he said.
The Zonal Chairman said the participants were expected to train their colleagues in their organissations with a view to train others.
