The Bauchi State Government has commended Tiamin Rice Company Bauchi for the supply of quality rice meant for distribution to the vulnerable people as palliative of the subsidy removal and hike in the price of petroleum.
Mr Auwal Jatau, Deputy Governor and Chairman of palliative committee in the state gave the commendation when he inspected the processing and packaging of the rice at Tiamin mealing factory on Wednesday.
He said he is satisfied with the quality of rice supply and the commitment of the company to supply the rice to the state government.
Jatau pledged that the Committee would commence distribution of the palliatives next week to alleviate the suffering of the masses as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
According to Jatau, arrangements have reached advanced stage to commence the distribution of the palliative next week.
He added that the state government is worried about the hardship being faced by the people, especially the vulnerables.
Jatau noted that the purpose of the inspection visit is to see the level and the quality of the work so far done.
The Chairman of the palliative committee said over 88,000 bags of rice were procured by the state government and so far 30 tracks have arrived.
In his response, the General Manager of Tiamin Rice, Abubakar Bala Yusuf assured that the Company would give out the best for the benefit of the people
He appreciated the partnership with the Bauchi state government, saying the company would partner and support the government to succeed.
