Gov Fintri moves to reconcile Bauchi govt, Islamic clerics Dr Abdulaziz

Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has made frantic efforts to reconcile and profer peace between Bauchi state government and Islamic Cleric Dr Idris Abdulaziz in Bauchi.

Our correspondent reports that Dr Abdulaziz was in the corresctional custody for over two months and was reliable gathered that the Court had earlier on Friday granted bail to him.

Fintri In ahis effort to promote religious tolerance and ensure peace and peaceful co-existence among the people of Bauchi State meet with Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed with National leadership of Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Wa’ikatissunna (JIBWIS) and Darika sect on Friday.

Among the delegates are Sheik Dr Bala Lau, along with the National Secretary, Dr Kabir Gombe, and the Governor of Adamawa State, Umar Ahmed Fintiri Dr Ibrahim Disina , Sheikh Aliyu Dahiru Bauchi , Malam Abdulwahab Kano among others.

During the meeting, the discussion centred on the case of the Bauchi-based Islamic scholar, Sheik Dr Idris Abdulaziz Dutsen Tanshi,

Governor Fintri expressed his gratitude and satisfaction during the session appreciating Governor Mohammed for his work in building religion and national services.

He called on the people to continue supporting him in developing the state and mentioned that they were at the Government House to discuss and find a lasting solution to the lingering case against the Bauchi-based scholar, which has attracted reactions from across the country.

On his part Gov Mohammed assured that there would be an amicable resolution of the lingering issue.

He further appreciated the followers of the Cleric and the general public for their understanding and support concerning the matter, which has been a critical issue in the state.

The Governor emphasized that Bauchi citizens are known for their compliance and respect in matters that bring about development and peaceful coexistence in the State.

He also expressed gratitude to the delegation for their visit and concern, assuring that his administration would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure justice and equity for all.

Governor Bala Mohammed acknowledged that religion is a sensitive issue with multidimensional implications and thanked the scholars for giving him and Dr. Idris Abdul’aziz the benefit of doubt.

Sheik Dr Bala Lau commended Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his concern and understanding and assured that as religious leaders, they would continue to support amicable resolutions on issues that affect the Religion.

He urged the Governor to facilitate a lasting solution to the matter for sustainable growth and development, praising him as a true Democrat with a vision for the peaceful coexistence of the Bauchi people.

Also attendance at the meeting were the Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, The Grand Khadi, the leadership of the Bauchi State Sharia Commission, The Secretary to the State Government, The Chief of State, The PPS, other Islamic sects, and other critical political officeholders in the state.

Also present were the state Commissioner of Police, Musa Muhammad Auwal, Director of State Security Service, Husaini Abdullahi, representatives of Tijaniyya Islamic Sect, and Sheikh Abdulwahab Kano.
