The Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has sent a list of 24 Commissioner- nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening.
Our correspondent reports that out of 24 Commissioner nominees only three turn out to be female.
The Speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman stated this at a special plenary, while reading the governor’s request letter on Monday in Bauchi.
He said Gov. Mohammmed has sent a message requesting the house to screen and confirm nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council.
“In line with the provision of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).,” He said.
Majority Leader of the House, Mr Saleh Hodi present the names of the nominees include , Alkaleri: Maiwada Bello and Ibrahim Gambo, Bauchi: Mahmoud Babamaji and Danlami Kawule.
Others are Bogoro: Tsammani-Lydia Haruna, Dambam: Ahmed Jalam, Darazo: Yakubu Hamza, Dass: Usman Santuraki,Ganjuwa: Abdul Hassan, Gamawa: Muhammad Salees, Giade: Dr. Yakubu Adamu.
They include Jama’are: Abdulkadir Moddibo, Itas/Gadau: Hajara Gidado
Katagum: Farouk Mustapha, Kirfi: Hajara Yakubu -Wanka, Misau: Aminu Hammayo, Ningi: Hassan El-Yakub SAN
Other are Shira: Muhammad Hamisu-Shira, Tafawa Balewa:Silas Madugu and Abdulhamid Bununu, Toro: Jamila Muhammad Dahiru and Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo, Warji: Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, Zaki: Amina Muhammad Katagum
The nominees were urged to appear before the Assembly for screening August 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2023.
