Plateau state relaxes 24 hours curfew earlier imposed in Mangu

 

 

The Plateau State Government has announced the relaxation of the 24 hours Curfew earlier imposed in Mangu Local Government Area of the State.

A statement by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere says following the swift intervention of security forces led by the General Officer Commanding 3rd Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven to restore calm to trouble spots, Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has relaxed the curfew which will now be observed between 7pm and 6am.

The statement adds that the decision was reached after a review of the security situation in the Local Government by the State Security Council to allow students writing the National Examination Council NECO and Junior Secondary School Examination,JSSCE to complete their Examination.

Consequently, it further notes that movements within the Local Government would be restricted between the hours of 7pm to 6am until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties.

It therefore directs security agencies to ensure total enforcement of the curfew within the period under review.

The statement which reiterates the Governor’s determination and his administration to fulfill the constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and properties also assures that government is working round-the-clock to restore peace and order in the State
