Kano state Governor Abba Yusuf in the early hours of today (Wednesday) demolished the historic roundabout at the state Government House.
Eyewitnesses told journalists that the governor personally supervised the demolition of the roundabout, which is few meters away from the entrance of the Govt House.
The historic multi-million naira roundabout was remodeled and renovated on a number of times by the immediate past administration of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Meanwhile, Kano residents has expressed worry on how the roundabout which started to be the symbol of Kano from all across the country was demolished.
In an interview with GLOBAL TRACKER, a Kano residents Nafiu Abdullahi of Hotoro in Nassarawa local government area said “this demolition will take another dimension, I have been supporting Abba all the way, i even support him in demolition of ‘Daula’, Kano Eid Ground, Race course and others, but this one actually I am not happy.”
Also, Nasiru Saminu from Walawai in Tarauni local government area expressed confidence that the state government will transformed Kano to mega city way from Ganduje’s mesh but not with demolition of structures like Kano government house roundabout.
