The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has today, Wednesday, 24th of May, 2023 honoured its staff that are leaving the Service in 2023.
The event was held at the Conference Room on the 4th Floor of the Ministry’s Headquarter.
Twelve officers were listed as leaving the Service in the year. The list has three Directors: Mr. Idris Mohammed, the Director of Economic Services; Mr. Lawrence Omotayo Oyadoye, the Director of Procurement and Mr. Umar Hamisu Koko, the Director, Special Duties.
Retiring from the Department of Finance and Accounts were Grace Oladunni Usman, a Deputy-Director; Alo Sunday Idowu, and Assistant Director in the Budget Division; and Mathew Elaahviei Daniel who is a Senior Accounts Officer.
The Human Resources Department has three retiring Officers, namely Eze Wilfred Izuegbunam; Oliver Iyoh Orvanya and Iyah Bulus, all of who were leaving the Service on salary grade level 14.
Child Development Department has two officers retiring in 2023, namely Maria Jolomi Ego on salary grade level 10 and Rogers Veronica who is leaving the Service on salary grade level 09.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shehu Aliyu Shinkafi while wishing the retiring Officers well in their next endeavours, disclosed that some of the mentioned officers are not leaving immediately but later in the year, “but this is the time we have, to do this send off.” He later presented each officer with Certificate of Service as well as gifts of refrigerator or television sets.
Some officers that are still in the Service had endearing words about their retiring colleagues. Mrs. Friya Kande Bulus, the Director, Gender Development Department; Mr. Andrew Ali Madugu, the Director, Child Development Department, as well as Abubakar Yabagi, an Assistant Director in Human Resources Management spoke specifically of the positive values of Mr. Idris Mohammed, Mr. Hamisu Koko, Mr. Lawrence Oyadoye and Mr. Eze Izuegbunam which resonates with the rest officers that have worked with the mentioned retiring officers.
