All Progressive Congress (APC) Group, One Nigeria Siyasa Bada Gaba has condemned the zoning formula of the party, saying it is undemocratic, just as endorsing Abdulaziz Yari for Senate President.
Hon. Suleiman Lalaye, North-East Regional Director and Amb. Dalhatu Umar Umar National Secretary respectively made the condemnation in a press conference on Wednesday in Bauchi.
The Group said zoning is undemocratic APC as a party should adopt the principle of fair play to all supporters and Members of the party.
“We are advising our great party APC and its leadership to shun away from imposing any candidate or openly meddling into the affairs of the legislative arm by allowing the principle of fair play and democratic process to take effect in the election of the 10th Assembly.
“It’s imperative for the party to allow the members of the 10th assembly to elect the best capable personality among them which will help the party in preserving her integrity and virtues known to her.
“To protect the party and its president elect from getting into the trap of political enemies who are ever ready to generate hatred and dislike for the party and more especially to the president elect,” the group stated.
The Group further suggest that the president elect should be more concerned about the collective directions of his government through better commitment to equality, fairness, inclusivity of every section or region of the country.
The Group also advises the president elect and the National working committee of the party APC to be more logical and implore a sense of belonging to every section by revisiting or reversing the unpopular zoning arrangement at this time.
“To allow democracy to take its cause to avoid unnecessary power tussle among the members while competency should serve as a watchdog.
The APC group enjoined the Senators elect of the 10th assembly to rally round there support to the most experience and competent personality amount all the candidate and to explore there antecedent,
However the group endorsed the former Governor of Zamfara Abdulaziz Yari as the quality candidate among the contenders.
“The personality we are emphasizing is not any other than His Excellency Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari based on his dedication, loyalty and open arm as a leader to accommodate each and everyone regardless where you come from, His vision, tenacity, being a goal getter and people oriented personality can’t be over emphasize.
” We are soliciting the support of the Senators elected for Senator Yari not just because of where he came from or his tribe neither due to his wealth but rather due to his contribution to the party in his state, and the nation at large.
