Hajj 2023 – Nigeria to begin airlifting pilgrims on the 25th May to Saudi Arabia -Photos

 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has revealed that airlift of nigerian pilgrims for the 2023 hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia will commence on the 25th of this month (May).

 

 

This was disclosed by the Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah kunle Hassan today at the ongoing workshoo in Hajj Management organized to train leaders of Hajj missions across the hajj participating countries.

 

The chairman also disclosed thay the NAHCON advance team comprising of NAHCON staff, medical team and other officials will depart the country on the 21st of this month for unward preparation and commencement of the hajj exercise.

The workshop is being is being hosted by NAHCON with officials of Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah who have since arrived the country few days back as  the resouce persons.

 

Alhji Zikrullah further said, going by the schedules and plan, evacuation of all Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will be concluded within 25 days.

 

 

Similarly, the chairman has stated that despite the increase of about $313 (N141, 476) to the cost of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, the commission will not ask intending pilgrims to make additional payments.

 

Meanwhile, the NAHCON Boss has explained the breakdown of crises in Sudan and the closure of its airspace has prompted the four Nigerian airlines chosen for Hajj 2023 to asked the commission for additional $250 per pilgrim’s flight ticket.
