Group under the auspices of North East Youth Advocacy For Peace And Development Initiative (NEYAPDI) has urged Taraba State Governor elect retired Lt.Col.Agbu Kefas to promote peaceful coexistence among various ethics and religious groups in the state.
Comr. Umar Adamu Jibrin, National Chairman of the group made the appeal at a Congratulatory press conference to the Taraba Gov elect retired Colonel Kefas on Monday in Bauchi.
He explained that the current development challenges being faced in the state requires People like Kefas and the input of leaders that will use available resources and indeed even harness new ones to place the state on the map of development and economic recovery.
“The state has suffered enough of security challenges and ethnic disturbances with him as Governor he will work assiduously to sustain and maintain relative peace.
“We have seen altitude and latitude, we have seen progression in you and by the grace of God Almighty you will not allow the good people of Taraba State and the country at large to perish.
“Sir, the challenges of leadership are enormous, but we want you to see this honor given to you by the God Almighty through the good people of Taraba State as a propeller and catalyst for you to double your efforts as an exemplary leader in your bid to make positive changes to the larger society,” he said.
The National Chairman of the group said the Gov elect retired Lt Col Kefas has a Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws, academic policies, and administrative regulations.
“He is an experienced leader, communicator, and negotiator with long-standing experience in peacekeeping. good governance, civil society collaboration, Counterterrorism issues, hostage negotiation, conflict resolution, and sustainable development issues.
“He also has Access to top-notch professional expertise coupled with international networks in the fields of politics, International security administration, Counterterrorism, national, international, and maritime security, Human capital development, threat assessment, and violent extremism.
He added that Kefas has an astute managerial capacity, Long-standing expertise in dealing with complex socio-economic and political matters, security issues, and risk management structures with grounded change management prowess.
Comr. Jibrin said on behalf of students and youths who are beneficiaries of your gestures and holistic commitment to education, youths empowerment and grass- root development, we say thank you and wish you more power to your elbow.
Jibrin however said the group congratulate a quintessential leader, and a man that is driven by a consuming passion to render selfless services and to lead change in our society, the Gov. Elect of Taraba State Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas Rt. and his wife Mrs.Patience (Agny) Kefas.
They also appreciated a father and national mentor, General T.Y Danjuma for identifying and mentoring talented people like Lt. Col. Kefas Rt.
