The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi state has deployed 750 officers and men to ensure free flow of traffic and reduce road traffic crashes during the Easter celebration in the state.
Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander FRSC, disclosed this in the Easter Special Operations update made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Saturday.
The Sector Commander, who stated that there were 200 volunteer personnel, said that the corps has deployed 20 operational vehicles and 10 ambulances to give prompt and adequate response to victims in case of emergency.
According to him, the corps had also deployed 15 recovery vans, two extricating machines, two breathelyzers to check the level of alcohol and other substance in drivers’ system during the period.
The FRSC boss said he has made available three roadside clinics, two help areas, adding that this, was in addition to aggressive public enlightenment on traffic rules with the use of mass media and places of worship in the state.
“We are also in collaboration with sister Security agencies, road transport unions, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, government and private hospitals, among others.
“There would be continuous routine patrol and rescue standby service as well as mobile court where traffic offenders would be sanctioned without delay,” he said.
