The Bauchi State Governorship Flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress APC in the just concluded elections, Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar (Rtd) has called on the good people of Bauchi state to remain calm as they will rise again.
In a statement signed by the candidate on monday 20th March after the election result was announced thanked all the people who supported him against all odds.
The statement reads:
“I want to thank you all for coming out enmass to vote for me, Air Marshall Baba Sadique Abubakar (Rtd) to be the next Governor of Bauchi State despite the state sponsored terror lunched on us especially in Toro LGA where a DSS operative survived assassination attempt; in Warji LGA where houses were rased; in Alkaleri LGA where our agents were foced to sign results at gun point, Zaki LGA where BVAS were not used and collation took place out side the LGA and Ningi LGA where violence led to cancellation of results in Ningi Central, amongst others. On a sad note, one of our supporters who was fatally wounded in Warji LGA died this morning. May Allah forgive his wrongdoings and grant him aljannah.
“it is a pity that the evils mated on our dear people was just because one man doesn’t want to give up the privilege of scoundering our common patrimony. it is gratifying to note that our people overwhelmingly rejected this man and his nest of grifters at the polls in spite of the fact that he deployed unbridled violence on our people to enable him write the results that best suits him and rig himself back to office.
“As usual, the indecency that defines them let them recklessly rig the elections. Otherwise, how else can someone explain the results from Toro LGA, Warji LGA, Zaki LGA, Alkaleri LGA, and Bauchi LGA, just to mention a few. Our preliminary interrogation of INEC e – Platforms produced evidence of unprecedented manipulation of the results in total disregard of extant electoral laws and rules. It is clear to us that based on what we now know, I am the clear winner of this election.
“There are also House of Assembly candidates who were unintelligently rigged out. Our only undoing was that we relied on conventional security to defend and protect our votes, who were either unavailable or non responsive on election day.
” I am calling on all of Bauchi people who have been robbed of their mandate to stay calm and maintain the peace. I am to add that very soon, we will jolt you and the world with evidence of this criminal appropriation of your will and mandate. After our review is concluded, we shall embark on the next journey to enthrone decency in Bauchi Government House and to recover all our stolen mandates. We will not concede to thugs, grifters, and sponsors of mayhem.
“Most assuredly, I hope to lead us in this next fight as I have done in the first. I urge us all not to despair or give up on your prayers for a better and more prosperous Bauchi State. keep a date with us!
