Hajj 2023: NAHCON Inaugurates screening committee

 

 

 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially inaugurated the Aviation Screening Committee to oversee the screening of Nigerian pilgrims air carriers for the 2023 Hajj.

 

The ceremony was held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday, with top officials from NAHCON, the Chairman Senate committee on foreign affairs Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa, the Chairman House committee on pilgrimage Alh Hassan Nalaraba and the Nigerian aviation industry in attendance.

 

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, emphasized the importance of safety and security during the Hajj pilgrimage. He explained that the screening process plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of Nigerian pilgrims.

 

“The safety and security of Nigerian pilgrims is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that they have a comfortable and hassle-free pilgrimage experience,” Hassan said.

 

He added that the Aviation Screening Committee, which comprises representatives from NAHCON, NCAA, FAAN, and other relevant agencies, would work together to ensure that all pilgrims are screened according to international standards.

 

 

The DG of NCAA, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, also spoke at the event. He expressed his agency’s commitment to working with NAHCON to ensure a seamless screening process for Nigerian pilgrims.

 

 

“We are ready to provide all the necessary support and facilities to ensure that the screening process is conducted efficiently and effectively,” Nuhu said.

 

 

The inauguration of the Aviation Screening Committee comes ahead of 2023 Hajj operations, which is expected to take place in May this year.
