The Police command Bauchi State has arrested six suspects for raping a 12 years old girl and other suspects of various crimes in the State.
SP Ahmed Wakil, Spokesman of the Command stated this in a statement made available to Journalists on Friday in Bauchi.
He said the command arrested the suspects in Chinade town, Katagum local government area of the state for raping a 12 years old girl.
“Investigation revealed that all the suspects confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the underage victim.
“The suspects in different occasion enticed the little girl with monetary gifts ranging from N100 to N200 naira,” he said.
According to him, the suspects are Mustapha kawu 40 yrs Abubakar Bello 50 yrs, Idriss Yakubu 40 yrs
Nasiru Dalhatu 40 yrs.
Others are Idris Sarkin Ruwa 50 yrs,
Abubakar Jallaba 37yrs all of Yayu village Chinade district in Katagum LGA.
He explained that rape is a capital offence and also against humanity and good conscience.
The Spokesman also said the command arrested four suspects for vandalising electricity transformers in Katagum local government area.
The command arrested two ex-convicts and two others for vandalizing 11 electricity transformers in Azare L.G.A Bauchi state.
The Suspects include Adamu Ahmed 30yrs, Usman Mohammed 28 yrs,
Sulaiman Muhammed 35 yrs,Umar Abdullahi 35 yrs all of Matsango ward of Katagum LGA Bauchi state.
“During interrogation the suspects confess their crimes and reveal that they have vandalized various electricity transformers situated at different locations of the state.
“The suspects confessed to have scooped 6-8 Jerry cans with 25 liters capacity and sell at the rate of twelve N12000 to the said Ibrahim Babani alias Wada, who is said to introduce them to the business,” he said.
SP Wakil also said the command operatives arrested Ahmad Bashir,
criminally conspired and mobilised 10 thugs armed with dangerous weapons who axed Abdullahi Musa to death in Jaja ward Bauchi metropolis.
He said the suspect was arrested on January 24, 2023 after hiding for some days, adding that the operatives have intensified to arrest his cohorts to face the full wrath of the law.
Wakil said the suspects would be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law.
