Police arrest 9 notorious hoodlums, robbers terrosising Bauchi and environs

 

The Police Command in Bauchi State has arrested six notorious suspected hoodlums who specialises in terrorising citizens and robbery in Bauchi metropolis of the state.

 

 

This wa contained in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakil, made available to Newsmen on Thursday in Bauchi.

 

According to Wakil the command operatives arrested six suspected notorious thugs (‘Yan Sara-Suka) terrorizing Bauchi Metropolitan as well recovered dangerous weapons and stolen items.

 

“January 15 following intelligence information at the Command disposal revealed that some restive youths known as (‘Yan Sara Suka) came out in massive numbers from different wards of Bauchi metro.

 

 

“Which include; Unguwar Kur, Bakaro, Karofi, Yakubu Wanka, Kwanar Kwaila, and Unguwar Doya respectively, converged and invaded Kobi Street Bauchi armed with dangerous weapons unleashing terror on innocent citizens and looting shops.

 

 

“On receiving the information, a team of detectives attached to Area Command Metro swiftly swung into action and successfully arrested six suspected notorious thugs (‘Yan Sara-Suka) terrorizing Bauchi,” he said

 

 

The Spokesman mentioned the suspects include Sani Mohammed 27,Suleiman Mohammed 19,Imrana Abbas 19, Ibrahim Muhammed 18,Hassan Alhassan 18,
Babangida Salisu 20 all of Anguwar Kur and Dutsen Tanshi respectively.

 

 

He added that the operatives recovered dangerous weapons and stolen items from the Suspects that include two matches, three Knives. Others are four handset phone and N17,000.

 

Wakil said the command operatives also arrested 21 year Umar Abubakar with a locally made pistol revolver with three live 7.62mm ammunition near Nabordo village in Toro local government area of Bauchi State.

 

“The suspect confessed to having purchased the firearm two years ago, and he fired one piece of ammunition while chasing cattle rustlers in Mangu LGA of Plateau State,” he said.

 

The Spokesman also said the operatives in the command Jan 13 in the afternoon arrested one Abdul Mohammed alias (P. A) of Karofi Bauchi town in possession of Toyota Corolla LE with registration number NSR-510TY, ash in color, suspected to be stolen property.

 

“On interrogation the suspect confessed to have received the vehicle from one Haruna second name not yet known of Biu, Biu LGA, Borno State.

 

 

“Now at large for onward delivery to one Ibrahim Babaji 30 of Misau town, Misau LGA, Bauchi State who was also arrested and confessed to have bought the vehicle from one Barau Alim Tela ‘m’ of the same address, also at large,” Wakil said.

 

He said the command is making frantic efforts to arrest the suspects who are at large and investigation is ongoing.

 

 

The Spokesman urged parents and guardians to prevail on their wards and proteges against being used as cannon-fodders.

 

Waki said the command Commissioner of Police (CP) Aminu Alhassan while commended the Command operatives for the success recorded:

 

“He assured that all criminal elements will be smoked out of their hiding places and would answer to their crimes in due course,” The Spokesman said.
