Disina community lauds Bauchi Govt over road project

 

 

 

The Disina community in Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State have commended the Bala Mohammed’s administration for road construction project in the area.

 

The state government constructed 1.65 kilometres township road and drains to control perennial flooding in the town.

 

A cross section of the residents who spoke in seperate interviews with Newsmen on Thursday in Shira, said the road had eased transportation difficulties.

 

One of the residents, Maigari Inuwa expressed joy over the gesture, adding that it enhance movement of goods and services as well as encourage growth of commercial activities in the area.

 

“We are grateful to the governor for the gesture because we have been enjoying the road.

 

“In the past, when it rains, we can’t stay in our houses due to flooding, we have to move to safer grounds.

 

“The flood destroyed mud houses, we thank the government for the intervention.

 

“We pray God to continue to help the governor, and we assure him of our support and cooperation,” he said.

 

He also called for construction of embankment to control flood water from the river in the area.

 

Another resident, Malam Saleh Azare, said the road project had beautified the town, enhance sanitation and clean environment.

 

In their contributions, Mrs Aisha Muda and Rakiya Ibrahim said the road project meant so much to women, as it availed them opportunity to access healthcare facilities without difficulties
