I started blogging about 6 years ago and having went into it whole heartedly i had the zeal to learn from people who were ahead of me by far, people i derived inspiration from.
I will just pose some days and read about great bloggers, i subscribed to alot of them especially foreign ones, Linda Ikeji is my number one insperator in the home front, i picked little feom Bella Naija too, instablog were not left out.
following them enabled me to see different patern as well as styles of blogging, of course not forgetting how some people only blog about just one sensessional thing.
However, i on the other hand wanted to talk about everything with my numerous life experiances and still do news as well as be a professional journalist since i was properly trained in one of the best journalism institutions in Nigeria, the NTA television college Jos affiliated to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
It was going on so well, couple with the platform i was using then which was so easier since it was owned by Google, that’s ‘Blogger’.
Meanwhile i was also creative while at it and tried to input some of my creativity to make it so interesting and sincerely it was working for me.
I can’t forget to mention that my very supportive father, mentor and confident, Sir Mathews Otalike who was everly ready to come in whichever way posible and offer his mentorship and guidance.
Time passed by and stuff happens, life took a toll on me for the worst, i then began to lose those creative skills that was helping me to draw more readers to my blog.
As time goes by, i couldn’t even make a post by myself, i mean create a write up and so on, then i focused just on copy and paste but then the previous result i was getting was no longer there.
But the passion was there and it sustained me and encouraged me to go on and keep doing what i love to do most “Blogging”.
Although i later changed my platform to wordpress and it was not so easy fitting in, however, i was learning afresh and also enjoyed it due to its features.
Now back to the real story about learning, 2 weeks ago i was opportuned to attend a Media capacity building workshop, that has helped to resurrect something in the way i used to blog before and it was giving me results.
One of the resourced person that took us on Online media has helped in opening my eyes to the good things i had left out over the years while trying to fit into what some people wanted me to be doing.
I was paying more attention to what some people were saying on how i should be using my platform even though that was not exactly how i wanted it to be.
Whenever i am behind the keyboard trying to express myself i will think of those people and what they will think if they read my posts and so i was gradually drifting away from the real thing without even thinking about what my audiance really wanted.
It is not all about me, it shouldn’t be about me, but my audiance, some even reached out on why i left certain content out which i will alway tell them i am just trying to be more serious and that had affected me in my growth.
But the workshop two weeks ago has reawaken me and my dreams and passion, so this year 2023 and beyond, i intend to give my best to you out there my loyal audience who have been here through thick and thin, you endured and still endure my erroneous spellings and just hoped and prayed that i become better.
You overlooked all that i can’t do right, this is me saying “i appreciate” and that i am assuring you that i am learning and will continue to learn and that we will keep growing together untill we reach that promise land.
I gained more strength when some of you personally reached out to tell me how my posts inspire you and how you always look forward to those posts.
Keep reading and following all that we do on ROTV24 because you will love every bit of it as we progress, i am still learning on how to keep you more informed, educated and entertain, remember we are the home of Infortainment and the source you all can relly on as we continue to get better with time.
I wish fortune will smile on me to take some short courses both home and abroad, to build my capacity and enhance my knowledge.
I am Rasheeda Noro Yahaya CEO ROTV24 saying that, ‘LEARNING IS A PROCESS AND THAT NO MAN IS AN ISLAND’.
Reading your article helped me a lot and I agree with you. But I still have some doubts, can you clarify for me? I’ll keep an eye out for your answers.
Your article helped me a lot, is there any more related content? Thanks!
