Nigeria’s Super Falconets have been pictured sleeping on chairs and the floors of the airport in Istanbul, Turkey, on their way back home.
The Puch Newspaper posted on twitter that the team was knocked out of the quarter finals of the 2022 Under-20 Women’s World Cup by Netherlands on Sunday.
The Super Eagles former media officer, Colin Udoh, who shared the photos on his social media pages said, “Nigeria’s #Falconets have been traveling from Costa Rica since 6:30am on Monday.
“They’re now in Istanbul on a 24-hour layover and sleeping on the airport chairs and floor, or wherever they can find.”
Meanwhile, a twitter user has defended and explain why they were syranded at the airport where he wrote:
” Poor journalism what are you trying to achieve… you refused to inform the public why they have to sleep there ….. do you know their is no hotel within the airport in turkey? Do you know that no more visa on entry for Nigerians which means they can’t transit” ?
