Anambra State House of Assembly majority leader slumps, dies in South Africa

 

 

A lawmaker in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Nnamdi Okafor, has died in South Africa.

 

 

 

According to reports, the Majority Leader of the House and member representing Awka South Constituency 1, collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday, August 23, in a hotel at Sandton City, Johannesburg, and was confirmed dead hours later.

 

 

 

The medical doctor and pharmacist by training popularly called Akajiugo Awka, was said to have gone for a legislative retreat in Johannesburg with other lawmakers.

 

 

 

The full details of the cause of his death are yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
