Nigerian female Gold Medalists at the Comonwaealth games to have their names etched at the walls of Nigerian women Hall of fame, Tallen says

The honorabe minister of women affairs Dame Pauline Tallen has said she is going to work hand in hand with her counterpart of the ministry of Youths and sports Otunba Sunday Dare.

Tallen sid this in commemoration of the International day of the Youths.

In a statement personally signed by the minister she congratulated the nigerian  youths for standing tall in the face of challenges.

Her statement reads:

It is another International Youth Day with the theme “Intergenerational solidarity: Creating a world for all Ages.” The day is set aside by the United Nations to celebrate the importance of “Youths” as partners in shaping their societies.

2. Let me use this opportunity to congratulate the Nigerian Youth; especially the female Youth for standing tall in the face of all challenges. The struggles of life by virtue of being born a ‘girl-child” particularly that of a Nigerian Girl/Woman is in itself a way of life to accord respect to.

3. The 2022 theme is apt,  as it resonates with the milestones recorded by our young women across all sectors of the Nigerian economy. This day further provides the opportunity to celebrate the young women who dared the odds to bring cheers and reshape the story of our dear country Nigeria at the global sports arena,  where our National flag and Anthem re-echoed our collective image as a land of great potential. With great determination and admiration of the world, our young women hurled in gold medals, after shattering outstanding records after records which placed us as the best Team in Africa. Those moments were beautiful and breath taking as we watched with pride forgetting our tribal and religious difference which has torn through the fabric of our society. Ladies once again thank you for making the woman relevant!

4. I want to restate my commitment to work with the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Otunba Sunday Dare to ensure that their names are etched on the walls of the Nigerian Women Hall of Fame as a lasting legacy of their efforts.

5. As the Minister of Women Affairs, it is a day to also pay glowing tributes to all young Nigeria women from all walks of life and to salute them for their selfless sacrifices in their families, communities and the larger society. They are the unseen hands that move mountains and giving realities to dreams; they are the silent voices shaping the society; the link to the future and the path to our progress. We must therefore create the enabling environment for them to showcase their abilities.

6  The times we are in, calls for sober reflections and a change in societal attitude towards the girl-child. She remains a victim of all discriminations and societal vices; from rape, early and forced marriage, Genital Mutilation, Malnutrition, abduction, kidnapping, trafficking, Baby Factory,  etc.

7. I want to use this occasion to appreciate all the 34 State Governors that have passed the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (2015) and the 31 States that have passed the Child Rights Act (2003) and to passionately appeal to the others to join us in this struggle as they have also unanimously committed to zero tolerance to Gender-Based Violence. I want to further appeal to our Governors to go a step further to commit funds to the full  implementation of the law, while ensuring that it is gazetted to give the survivors hope and a sense of justice.

8. The 9th National Assembly has also done noble by enacting the Act to ensure that the Universities remain a true citadel for young girls to realize their dreams without being frustrated by Lecturers.

10. As we prepare for the 2023 elections, I want to appeal to all our youth to shun all the negative vices associated with the period and refuse to be used as agents of destruction. The future of Nigeria is the Youth ; with the Female Youth as and the true answer to the Future.

11. The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs remain committed to creating the pathway for the female Youth to realize their aspirations as partners of progress as we chat a new agenda to restore the dignity of our Country.

Long Live the Nigerian Youth!

Long Live Nigerian Female Youth!!

Long  Live  President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR!!!

Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Dame Pauline K. Tallen
