The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has lost one of its hard working and dedicating Zonal corporation from Sokoto in Makka.
Mallam Garba Yakubu is said to be the Sokoto Zonal coordinator of the commission, he however answered the call of his maker in a hospital in Makka on Sunday.
A press statement by the NAHCON Zonal center Sokoto revealed that the deceased died in Annur Hospital Saudi Arabia on 7th August 2022 and has since been buried according to islamic rites.
The statement reads:

SUBJECT: THE DEATH OF AN ICON
It’s with great sadness and total submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that I officially inform you the death of Mallam GARBA YAKUBU (Coordinator Sokoto Zonal Office) Which sad event occurred on Saturday night 7th August, 2022 after a brief illness at ANNUR HOSPITAL SAUDI ARABIA.
Mallam GARBA YAKUBU was born on 5th February, 1972 and joined the service of the Commission on 1st February, 1994 and rose to the rank of Chief Admin Officer.
We may know that death is a part of life, yet it’s never easy to lose someone. I am very sorry for the loss of GARBA YAKUBU whom I know was a bright spot in the Commission.
It was too soon for such a bright star like GARBA YAKUBU to leave us behind, may the soul of the deceased rest in Aljahnat Firdous.
This is particularly a difficult and painful time for his family. In extending to them our heartfelt condolences, I wish them courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
On behalf of the Commission, I pray Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljahnat Firdous and grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
