At least 40 people have been reported dead due to a stampede during a church programme in PH, Rivers State
The incident was said to have happened at Polo Club in Port Harcourt during a church programme leading to scores of people losing their lives.
According to reports, the stampede happened in the early hours of Saturday when a crowd of people forced their way into Polo Club in Port Harcourt where a church called, Kings Assembly was hosting an annual “Shop for the free programme”.
It was gathered that members of the public tried to force their way through the gate as early as 6:30 am which resulted in the stampede that caused the dead
A video making rounds online show some of the victims of the stampede on the floor as doctors and nurses at the Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, are trying their best to attend to them and save as many people as possible.
