Intel Region reports that Emefiele got wrapped in a controversy after declaring his nterest in becoming the next president of Nigeria and does not wish to resign his position before contesting.
After several outcry by the public, calling for his resignation shortly after purchasing the N100m form of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emefiele approached a Federal High Court in Abuja to prevent the country’s electoral body INEC from disqualifying him.
President Buhari in a response to the expression of interest by his appointees ordered the resignation of every one of his cabinet members interested in vying for political offices in 2023.
