Honourable Isaac Kwalu, an aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party PDP for the Mikang, Quanpan and Shendam Federal constituency has offered to pay delegates N400,000 each, to vote for him so that he can clinch the ticket.
According to reports, Kwalu has already given an advance of N50,000 to each of the delegates with the promise to complete N350,000 once elected.
The agreement to pay the remaining N350,000 was made in the presences of the Shendam Local Government party chairman and it’s secretary where they are to collect the balance of 350,000 from the Local Government party chairman of Shendam and his secretary after casting their votes
Hon. Isaac is said to have just returned to the party early this year after as a member of the all Provressive Congress, APC, however, he is eager to win the primaries by all means.
It was also revealed that the said Iseac Kwalu did same as when he was seeking for a chairmanship position, he decided delegates into voting for him and it later became a scandal on him as he could not pay the delegates.
Kwalu finally waited till he resumed office before paying on instalments to the deligates.
ROTV24.com exclusively gathered that 5 out of the 6 contestants are not happy about the development stating that the party is not for sale, the members there also said “somoene who sounds so desperate cannot be trusted because when he entered the office he will have to recoup his money fiest.”.
Meanwhile, some of the PDP elders have strongly condemned the action of the aspirant (Isaac Kwalu) which according to them such a dastardly act does not mean well for the party.
One of the plateau PDP elders from the Shendam who chose to remain anonymous said “The party is not for sale and this is not a good signal to our opponents, being an opposition party, our opponents are looking for lapses and this cannot come now when the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, are trying to make a positve come back.
The elder also calls for the suspension of the said Isaac Kwalu as he is trying to drag the name of the PDP in the mud.
“Furthermore, the party stalwarts also called on the National body of the Party to rebuke Kwalu’s action and if possible suspend him, to bring them into the party again as that cannot be condoned”.
The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Plateau state is scheduled to hold its primary elections on Monday 23rd May.
