At last night’s Met Gala, Kim Kardashian wore Marilyn Monroe’s original ‘Happy birthday Mr President’ dress, which she wore in 1962.
The Mirror UK reports that the gown, which contains more than 2,500 handstitched crystals, originally cost $12,000 (£9,500) and the movie star had to be sewn into it.
Kim had to lose 16lbs to fit into the dress, saying: ‘You don’t alter Monroe’s dress to fit you; you alter yourself to fit Monroe’s dress.”
