The Honorable Minister of women affairs Dame Pauline Tallen has promised to make the psychiatric tests mandatory for every intending couple.
Tallen said this during a press briefing organised at the ministry of women’s affairs today 22nd April, where she addressed the rising cases of gender-based violence, especially against women lately.

Mercy, a mother of two from Jos whose husband reportedly ripped her open which led to her subsequent death at the Bingham teaching hospital Jos.
Tallen advised women to always speak out against domestic violence and should endeavour to leave when the situation becomes life-threatening.
