IMAM KHALID- The price of speaking the truth

By Rasheeda Yahaya

Speaking the truth in today’s world comes with a lot of prices and one of them is what Sheikh Nura Khalid is facing right now.

Having been one of his fans who shares most of his videos here which many of you can testify that the digital Imam in all his criticism goes with the current issues at hand.

I read where some are saying he is doing it for more popularity and to gain more followership, the question here remains, is there any truth in whatever he says or criticised about? Yes, there is.

In all his videos ranging from the Almajiri issues, the palliative looting which many hailed him then including those who are calling him out now, to the said issue of insecurity which led to his suspension and subsequent dismissal are all facts which all of us are living witnesses to.

Oh, they said he mingles too much in political issues and as a cleric, he is not supposed to, so if politicians want to keep religious preachers out of politics, why do they visit them for blessings laden with all sorts of gifts?

The ordinary man cannot speak about the injustices he faced daily in this country, so should everyone look the other way and pretend to be blind and deaf just like the government is doing.

We copy certain trades from the developed world but we failed to copy humanity and quality leadership?

Has there been any address from the relevant authorities to at least pacify the public over the recent disaster of train incident which claimed lives? Or the massive abduction of innocent citizens on daily basis?

Well, I have not been active lately so maybe I missed it, it is high time Nigerian leaders learn to do things the right way.

The sheikh couldn’t satisfy his conscience if he keeps quiet just like the rest of his cohorts are doing, we might see things differently, however, it is good to accept that things have gone haywire.

And yes! As we are busy preparing for 2023, demands must be made by the electorates, enough of sucking the orange and throwing away the peels, that’s what Nigerian politicians are good at.

To the Digital Imam, Allah knows your intentions regardless of what everyone is saying, you stood by your truth and only it shall set you free. Best wishes.
