The National Hajj Commission pf Nigeria (NAHCON) has directed all 36 States including the FCT, Agencies to go ahead with the preparations of Hajj 2022.
This was made known by the chairman of the commission Alhaji Zikhrullah Kunle Hassan on Wednesday 2nd during a meeting with all the secretaries and heads of Agencies in Abuja.
This development came about after the commission has received an update from the Saudi Arabian authority regarding the performance of the yearly ritual (Hajj) which was halted for 2years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Chairman further directs all the secretaries of the states pilgrims welfare board to migrate every pilgrims to the Hajj savings Scheme account with Jaiz bank in other to harmonize and streamline the process.
Alhaji Hassan further speaks on the coronavirus pandemic and the worst days of the entire words;
“There are other details which I will like to keep for now. But engagements and communication has started between the two nations in respect of Hajj 2022”.
“We have reasons to believe that the worst moment is already gone. For the first time in about two years, we have received an official communication from Saudi Arabia.
“The official communication is intended to kick start usually what begins the Hajj Operation, which is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
“Has a day been chosen no, will a day be chosen yes, I pray. Immediately the day is chosen that will be the commencement of the Hajj operation for 2022.
“We hope that it will be very soon and I am sure that is the hope of everybody. What it now means is that we must all leave here to get prepared for 2022 Hajj,” Hassan said
