Life of a single mother and the challenges

Scrolling through my phone and I stumble on the picture below, it was taken on the 11th day of Ramadan, but guess what? It was taken at the hospital.

Over the years I have always battled being a mum and dad at the same time because I had an absentee husband, and now a single mum it is not too difficult but it is a whole lot of work

One thing that is certain with me is the love I have for my children and the covenant I took within me to see them grow and become good citizens.

But out of it all, the most outstanding thing I can boldly pat myself on the back for is how I taught them how to always stick to each other and stand by one another through thick and thin.

I thank God for how they have turned out to be very responsible adults, this gladdens my heart to know that my effort is not in vain.

Men usually ask me how I do it all by myself, but my response most times is that ” when you eventually find yourself in a place where you have no pillar to lean on except the Almighty Allah, then you have to put on your thinking cap and do all that you have to do to survive”.That has been my strength and my reality.

Life as a single mum is not just easy no matter how rich you are, only the Almighty can see you through.

Ugly situations at times pop up and one is left hanging for solutions and support, such is the bad days when you are in your low moment and low self-esteem but with zero assistance to surge ahead.

If you are a single mum going through a lot, just know that it is normal to feel that way, but be strong and focus, those children are your future, never neglect them for anything in the world.

Stand by them to the end and the almighty will see you through, it is not a crime to be a single mum, how you chose to leave is what matters.
