As reactions continue to trail the Jibe of President Buhari Over those who are advocating for restructuring in the country, former Minister of Aviation during Goodluck Ebele Jonathan regime chief Femi Fani Kayode has also lamented over the statement.
Kayode who expressed himself on a Twitter thread write;
“The proposition that restructuring is a vague and illusionary concept which is unnecessary and unacceptable and the suggestion that the expression of the right of self-determination is an act of criminality and treason are the greatest fallacies in Nigerian politics.
Those that hold these erroneous, anachronistic& outdated views are the greatest enemies to Nigeria’s unity& their mindset provides a grave danger to the stability of our nation.Flexibility is the key: if we want peace we must make concessions& we must meet each other half way.
..It is better to try & understand those that do not share ur view & accept the fact that we can disagree with one another & still live in peace rather than to cultivate & nurture the dangerous& retrograde practice & philosophy of constantly seeking to crush all ur perceived.
..enemies & those whom you do agree with. Nigerians were born free & by the grace of God they will die free. We were not born to be slaves & we will not die as slaves.
“The tonic & lifeblood of democracy is dissent, freedom of expression, plurality of opinion & the ability to proffer different ideas & solutions to national issues & problems without being branded a criminal, a terrorist, a villain, a fool or an unpatriotic & misguided misfit”.
“No one has a monopoly of wisdom or ideas. Everyone has a right to contribute to national discourse”.
