BBC had an interview with the father of late Fatima, Mallam Yahaya Sidi Na Kalipha, a bride who was reportedly killed by her co-wife in Minna, Niger state.According to her father, Fatima’s co-wife allegedly sent all the domestic staff and made sure there was no one around when she and her friend locked all the entrance to the house.
They were said to have hit her with a mortar before trying to set her ablaze.It was further revealed that the suspected reason for the premeditated murder was as a result of the husband planning to take Fatima to Umrah (laser Hajj). he had earlier requested that she will be taken for an e-passport process which shi will use to travel unfortunately her life was cut short.
The DPO in Niger state said the senior wife and her accomplices numbering four are in the police custody.The deceased has been buried in her hometown in Katsina state after her father requested for her cores to be taken back home for burial.
May justice is served for Fatima and Allah grants her eternal rest.
