The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has welcomed the new Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria Ambassador Faisal Bin Eebraheem Al-Ghamidy.
In a special Dinner hosted on Wednesday at the Commission office at the Hajj House in Abuja, Chairman of the commission Alhaji Zikhrullah Kunle Hassan commended the embassy for its continued cooperation with NAHCON with respects to Hajj and Umrah preparations.
Hassan congratulated the Ambassador for his well-deserved appointment by the Saudi Authority.
In his words;
”You are welcome to Nigeria, being a home of hospitality and peace. I pray that you are going to enjoy your stay in Nigeria,” he said.
The NAHCON Chairman also expressed hope that Nigerian pilgrims would be considered among those to perform 2021 Hajj as vaccination against COVID-19 pandemic commences in Nigeria.
Similarly, Alh. Zikhrullah noted that the commission had applied means of enlightening the intending pilgrims on dos and don’t against the COVID-19 virus.
He also stated that the commission has also collaborated with the Ministry of health to ensure that all pilgrims are vaccinated before the 2021 hajj.
Hassan, who said that Nigerian Muslims are eager to perform this year’s hajj, applauded the Nigerian Government and Saudi Authorities for their commitment to managing the COVID-19 situation in both countries.
Other countries in attendance were the Senate committee chairman on Foreign Affairs senator Bulkacuwa, Hon. Sani Idris who represented Honarable Nalaraba, Chairman House Committee on Pilgrimage.
