“Before the crime is committed we shall nip it in the bud” Bawa says as he hands over in Lagos-Photos

The newly appointed chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC Abdulrasheed Bawa has handed over his former position to his successor in Lagos.

Bawa ahead of taking over the EFCC position of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC has handed over the leadership of the Lagos Zonal office to Taufik Sabir on February 26, 2021.

The new EFCC boss Bawa has charged the new head to keep the flag flying.

Earlier, a post on the EFCC page on Instagram started that, before the handing over ceremony, the new EFCC Boss has met with sectional/ units heads as well as all the officers in the zone, to give them his last submission.

In an emotional handing over the message, Bawa admonished the officers to be disciplined in the discharge of their duties.

He said:

“It is just natural that you cannot be fighting corruption and doing something different yourself at the same time”.

You must be above boards at all times and strive to be better always.

While commending officers of the zone for the support given to him for the period he led the zone, resulting in the transformation of the zonal office, he urged staff to see themselves as serving the country and also give my successor all the support given to me.

Stressing that under his chairmanship, the commission will ensure a proactive approach to the fight against corruption.

He further said, ” before the crime is committed, we shall put in place measures that will nip it in the bud”.
