The plateau state government has announced and an anatomy which will enable the 17 Local Government in the states to pay it own salaries.
This was in view of the demands of workers from all the local government across the state when it embark on a protest over the none implementation and payment of the N30,000 minimum wage.
The information which was contain in a circular released by the Local Government Service Commission has now decentralised the payment of staff salaries in all the 17 LG with effect from Thursday 7th.

In view of the protests and demands by the Seventeen (17 ) Local Government Council workers for the payment of their N30,000 minimum wage,the recently announced LG autonomy and the request for non deductions of statutory deductions by law to some Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs),the Plateau State Government through the State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has approved the decentralization of the payment of Local Government Staff Salaries in the 17 LGCs with effect from 7th January, 2021 vide a circular to the 17 Executive/TIC Chairmen of the 17 LGCs of Plateau State with the attention of the 17 LGC DPMs drawn.
Part of the circular reads:
The Executive/TIC Chairmen may wish to be informed that at the Executive/Emergency Meeting of the Plateau State Government Executive Council reference No.PLC/011/2020 held on 31st December,2020 at Council Chambers, Government House, Little Rayfield,Jos deliberated and resolved amongst several issues directed:2)That the payment of all LGC Staff Salaries be decentralized immediately from the Local Government Service Commission to the various LGCs.
3)In view of the directive, the Commission is notifying the 17 LGCs to make adequate arrangements to commence the payment of their salaries from November,2020 as soon as agreement is signed between Joint Negotiating Council (JNC)and the 17 LGCs.
4)All other modalities for the full transfer will be discussed at an enlarged meeting between the Commission ,Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) and Directors of Finance and Supplies (DFS) respectively at a date to be announced.
5) You are to bring this notice to the attention of all Directors,Staff and the Tripartite Unions for strict compliance please.
The two page circular was signed by Henry K. Lankwap, the Permanent Secretary of the Plateau State Local Government Service Commission and copied to the Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Jos, the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State and the Head of Civil Service, Office of the Head of Service.
