Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ahmed Idris Wase, has commiserated with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over the demise of his father Mallam Musa Kwankwaso, who died on Friday 25th December.
In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, on Friday, the Deputy Speaker described the death of the traditional ruler at this critical period as painful and a huge loss.
He said;
“I received the news of the death of His Royal Highness, Makaman Karaye Mal Musa Kwankwaso with great shock. Unfortunately, the nation would lose such a forthright and peaceful leader. His demise is indeed an irreparable loss to the people of Kano state and of course the entire nation.
“His contribution to nation-building will always remain a reference point to many of us. He was such an exceptional traditional ruler, father and great statesman.
“I wish to sincerely condole with Senator Rabiu Kwankwatso, the immediate family and the people of Kano state over this sad news.
“Death is an inevitable end for every human being and we should accept this as an act of God. I pray that Almighty Allah would grant the departed Jannatal Firdaus. I also pray to Almighty Allah to grant the entire family and Kano state the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Similarly, The Deputy Speaker expressed sadness over the death of a renowned cleric, Sheikh Justice Ahmad Lemu OFR, who died on Thursday 24th December at the age of 91 in Minna, Niger state.
Wase described the late Sheikh Lemu as an educationist, a foremost cleric and jurist who rendered selfless service to Islam and his country.
The Deputy Speaker said the cleric was one of the best Islamic scholars who is committed to the ideals of Islam, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for all persons, adding that his life was full of lessons for today’s young aspiring scholars.
“As we mourn the passage of a father, jurist and leader, I pray to the Almighty Allah to give his family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the loss,” the Deputy Speaker added.
