About 10 young men all from Jigawa state are dead. They died as a result of a ghastly road accident while going for Navy Recruits screening.
The ten youths intending to join the Nigerian Navy, died on Saturday, in an auto crash in Jigawa State.
The are said to be the indigenes of Gagarawa Local Government Area, who met their end while on their way to the venue of the recruitment exercise in Kano.
The u HF ly actident reportedly happened on Hadejia-Kano Road in Ringim Local Government Area.
A report stated that the accident occurred, when their vehicle rammed into a trailer, which was wrongly parked by the road. The Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Audi Jinjiri, confirmed the tragic incident.
He said;
“The accident involved a commercial Golf 3 wagon conveying 12 passengers from Gagarawa to Kano,”
According to him, the commercial vehicle rammed into a parked DAF truck which had developed a mechanical fault and occupied the lane meant for oncoming vehicles. Jinjiri said that 10 persons lost their lives while two others were in critical conditions at Ringim General Hospital.
