Governor Lalong to set up committee to look into constant fire outbreak in Katako market Jos.

Plateau State Government says it will set up a committee to look into the constant course of inferno at Katako market where properties worth Millions of Naira were destroyed .

A statement by a senior information Officer Philip Eplong revealed that Governor Lalong who was Represented by management Committee Chairman of Jos North Shehu Bala Usman, said that the committee when Constituted would work closely with the officials of the market to find lasting solution to the constant fire incident in the area.

The fire which occurred on Monday night destroyed property worth millions of naira Leaving the people in despair.Governor Simon Lalong expressed deep concern over the sad development, he said the reoccurrence of fire incident at the market each year is affecting the traders and the economy of the state.

The Governor also assured the business community and promised that his administration would do everything possible to work with the business community to improve the socio economic growth of the state by providing a conducive atmosphere for business to thrive.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Timber B hausa line Yusuf Buba and a business Man in the market Idris Babale Commended Governor Simon Lalong and the management committee chairman of Jos North Local Council Shehu Bala Usman for their quick visit to identify with them in their difficult moment.

They however appeal to the state and Local Governments to come to their aid as their only means of livelihood were destroyed.They also used the opportunity to appreciate the intervention of men of the fire service for their quick response and no life was lost in the disaster.
