The management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has payed a Condolence Visit to AHOUN
The condolence visit was led by the Chairman/CEO Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, Wednesday, 4th November, to the headquarters of Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON) over the death of its Acting President, Alhaji Salihu Butu, who died on Friday, 30th November.
A statement release by the head of Public Affairs to NAHCON, Haj. Fatima Sanda Usara stated that, senior staff of AHUON and family members of the deceased we’re on ground to receive the Chairman/ CEO NAHCON and his entourage.
In his condolence message, Alhaji Zikrullah expressed deep sadness over the sudden death of the AHUON leader and other deaths the Hajj industry had to contend with in recent times. He described them as losses of distinct people within a short time.
The NAHCON chairman expressed regret that this board was looking forward to better cooperation under Late Butu’s leadership knowing that his focus was always what to achieve collectively and not us versus them.
He also described the leader’s sudden passing away as a testimony that death can come at any time therefore a reminder to us to always put our best efforts in our various fields. He promised that NAHCON would stand by his bereaved family to offer the necessary support needed.
Speaking on behalf of AHUON, Mr. AbdulMalik Hassan, National Secretary of the association, gave gratitude to the Almighty for his late boss’s life and described the high-powered NAHCON delegation as a sign of the revered life the late Butu led. He thanked the NAHCON management for coming and prayed the Almighty to make Jannatul Firdaus Alhaji Butu’s resting place.
Responding, one of Butu’s oldest friends representing his family, Alhaji Sa’id Bobboi, explained that Alhaji Butu offered selfless services to the society, concentrating his struggles on how to move forward always. He informed that the deceased ceased every available opportunity to serve humanity with integrity and was always trying to build mutual understanding among people. Reason why after his demise, five Juma’at congregations in Yola offered prayers for the gentle rest of his soul.
He appealed that his family’s wish is to see Butu Travel and Tours limited remain operational.
Uztaz Muhammad Lamin, NAHCON staff, then offered a general prayer for the repose of Alhaji Salihu Abdullahi Butu’s soul.
