NAHCON calls on 2020 intending pilgrim’s to apply for a refund of their money if they wish to do so



The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has urged the 2020 intending pilgrims who wish to collect their money back to do so through their respective State Pilgrim Welfare Boards.

This information was made known by the Chairman/CEO Alhaji Zikirulla Kunle Hassan while briefing Journalists in the NAHCON complex office on 23rd July 2020 in Abuja.

Alhaji Hassan, however, urged those who wish to rollover their money to 2021 to also indicate, stating that they will be given top priorities considering the competition expected in the coming 2021 Hajj.

The Chairman sympathizes with the Kindom of Saudi Arabia as well. As applaud them for making the best decision, in the interest of all Muslims over the none performance of other nations in the 2020 hajj.

Recall that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has earlier announced that, only nationals who are residents of the kingdom will perform hajj this year. That is to say, no nation can travel due to the ravaging breakout of the coronavirus pandemic, a development has crippled many activities around the world,

Alhaji Zikirullah also called on the general public to take advantage of the Hajj Saving scheme to start depositing for the upcoming hajj exercise.

Meanwhile, the chairman while fielding questions from the journalist immediately after the press briefing has also stated that the commission cannot make any pronouncement on the 2021 hajj fair yet, as that will be a decision solely by the federal government in terms of VAT as well as Saudi Arabia”s final finding.

The Chairman/CEO also disclosed that the commission has no relationship whatsoever with the Nigerian pilgrims who are already residents of Saudi Arabia, urging that the commission is not in any way responsible for their welfare.
