The Obafemi Awolowo University’s students Union has impeached it president, Oyekan Ibukun Edward.
The parliamentsource decision was said to have arise due to gross misconduct by the president including his alleged involvementioned in the attack of students of the institution on Wednesday.
Others suspended with the president includes the secretary of the union and also the public relations officer in persons of Boluwajaiye Adeoluwa and Okezie Simon. This two were suspended for two weeks for not attending the parliamentary meeting which they were allegedly watching television at the common room in the same building the sitting was held.
The Parliament also prohibited absent parliamentarians from attending two subsequent sittings. The sitting had in attendance 52 parliamentarians at which 37 voted for the impeachment of the Union’s President, while the remaining parliamentarians abstained from votings
