The Commissioner of Health of Bayelsa state, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu, has disclose that onenof the patients receiving medical care for ‘Monkey Pox’ at the quarantine center in Bayelsa state has committed suicide.
In a press conference in Yenagoa, the commissioner said the deceased was among the 21 suspected cases of ‘MonkeyPox’ that were being managed at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH). He also expressed regret that the patient took his own life despite being recently recovered, he however insisted that the victim did not die of monkey pox.
