The Chairman, Police Service Commission, Dr. Mike Okiro has debunk an alledge letter from the commission purportedly demoting the Lagos State acting Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal to Deputy Commissioner of Police, stating that the letter did not emanate from him neither dI’d he authorised it urging that it should be ignored.
The Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Musa Istifanus had allegedly written to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris about the demotion of Edgal to his former rank of DCP. The letter, however, had generated confusion and consternation within the leadership of the police and among concerned stakeholders.
Okiro had told a correspondent in a telephone interview on Thursday night that he had told the IG to ignore the letter, adding that he would broach the matter with Istifanus.
